100 Wall Street Mentoring Club
The 100 Black Men of Savannah conducts the 100 Wall St. Mentoring Club, under the leadership of Charles Gilyard, Economic Empowerment Committee Chairman. This program introduces high school students to the world of investment through education, financial literacy, and mentoring. Over a three-year period, with a modest initial equity provided by the 100 Black Men of Savannah, and under the guidance and tutelage of members of the Savannah 100 and community partners, selected students are provided with a theoretical and practical understanding of the imperative of financial literacy and the complexities of the stock market. They are then afforded real world experience in implementing this understanding by investing equity. Any net proceeds are shared equally between the student and the chapter. Any student proceeds are used to support each student’s higher education. Any chapter net proceeds are reinvested in the Wall Street 100 Mentoring Club. Any losses are borne by the chapter.
